Johnny Baker is a small, yet busy patisserie in Castlemaine, Central Victoria, known for our delicious pastries, pies, tarts and cakes. We’re currently seeking a dedicated 1st year Apprentice with a passion for baking to join our vibrant team on a full-time basis.
The candidate will work 5 days a week and must be available weekends with all shifts starting at 6.30am.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior pastry chefs with daily tasks, including preparing ingredients, mixing doughs, and decorating cakes.
  • Learn proper baking techniques for a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workstation.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Develop strong knife skills and a keen eye for detail.

Requirements:

  • No prior experience necessary, but a passion for baking and a willingness to learn is essential.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to take direction and follow instructions.
