Objectives of the Division:
The Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) work as a team to support; the CEO, Board of Directors, Executive Management and various stakeholders to achieve the strategic direction and objectives of the organisation.
We facilitate and promote the successful operation of MEGT. The CEO's Office encourage the development, growth and progression of MEGT's people and systems ensuring compliance is maintained.
Objectives of the Position:
MEGT are contracted by government departments and businesses to conduct employment programmes and other services.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide mentoring services to indigenous participants via Employment Parity Initiatives as well as MEGT’s programmes. The Indigenous Consultant / Mentor will assist with the development of projects under the Indigenous employment and training programmes and Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) contracts.
The Indigenous Consultant / Mentor will provide services to indigenous trainees and apprentices including mentoring to Hutchinson Builders apprentices and trainees.

Relationships:
Reporting to the SQW & Small Projects Manager, this role will develop relationships with all relevant internal MEGT divisions and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide high levels of customer service to external/ internal stakeholders

Monitor the progress of participants through face to face and non-face to face contact to support safe
and successful completion of traineeships and apprenticeships

Provide advice and guidance to participants

Provide advice regarding issues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants (for
example, regarding wellbeing, work-readiness, employment experience etc.)

Build strong relationships with participants, support their personal growth, cultural identity and
connection with community

Build and maintain links with participant’s community networks, including making connections with
family (where appropriate)

Successfully build new ongoing stakeholder relationships

Provide post placement support for indigenous candidates

Work towards placing Indigenous people into sustainable training and employment

Offer employers support with regular site visits to ensure participant’s stays in employment and becomes an integral part of the team.

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Responsibilities:
All staff are required to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of other personnel who may be affected by their conduct.
National Police Check:
This position is required to undertake a National Police Check prior to commencing employment. A State/Territory Working with Children or Working with Vulnerable People Check may also be required by any applicable State/Territory legislation. A clearance to work with children in connection with the delivery of Network Support Services is mandatory. The National Police Check must be renewed every two years as a minimum.
