MEGT People and Culture - Learning Designer

Objectives of the Division: 

The People & Culture Division provides strategic people support and advice to enable MEGT to deliver on its business vision, values, and objectives.

Position Description

This role will support the design, development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of MEGT organisational capability; learning and development; and performance programs with an aim to increase attraction, engagement, and retention.  

A primary focus of this role will be analysing and evaluating available data to design and develop engaging, flexible, relevant and innovative blended learning solutions that empower staff to best meet the current and future needs of our customers.  

In addition, the Learning Designer will: support the Learning Management System administration and interrelated processes; establish positive collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and contribute to the promotion of an organisation wide commitment to a positive culture of learning. 


Relationships

  • Reporting to the People & Culture Manager Talent Management 

  • Working closely with People & Culture Team and developing relationships with MEGT subject matter experts in relation to designing and developing engaging, flexible, relevant and innovative capability, performance and learning solutions 

  • Building collaborative relationships with all internal and external stakeholders in relation to Adult Vocational Education technologies and practises and learning culture supporting workforce development.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Adult Vocational Education/Training Design and Development or relevant qualification in a related area or at least 5 years subsequent experience is desirable. 

  • Experience in the administration/account ownership of Learning Management Systems. 

  • Demonstrated learning and instructional design, development, implementation, training, and/or equitable experiences within an online heutagogical environment. 

  • Proven ability to manage processes and analyse and evaluate available data and information with a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and receptivity to change. 

  • The ability to work confidently and competently with a wide range of learning technologies and deliver online learning/ blended learning projects. 

  • The ability to think strategically to provide analysis, advice and direction to support long and short-term goals of organisational capability; learning and development; and performance programs in line with organisational objectives. 

  • The capacity to respond to internal and external customers and their needs with a high standard and quality of customer service, with a commitment to measuring and monitoring customer satisfaction. 

  • Willingness to embrace challenges and take initiative to deliver services that meet and exceed the current and future needs of MEGT internal and external customers. 

  • Ability to work, often unsupervised, in a small team, acting with trust and integrity to promote positive collaboration and open discussions.

  • Experience in analysing and evaluating data and information to deliver reports and presentations that demonstrate the organisation’s performance and return on learning investment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively support the administration of the Learning Management System and other organisational capability, learning and development, and performance platforms and tools. 

  • Design, implement and monitor learning solutions in collaboration with the Manager Talent Management to support the organisational capability; learning and development; and performance programs and projects with a specific focus on the Capability Frameworks, Leadership and Management, Induction, Performance Appraisal and Development, Succession Planning and Career Development programs. 

  • Analyse, contextualise and collaborate with subject matter experts and relevant Adult Vocational and Education learning industry frameworks to design learning experiences that support the culture, engagement, compliance, policies and procedures, site orientation and situated workplace learning of MEGT. 

  • Support the continual monitoring and reviewing of organisational capability; learning and development; and performance programs to achieve an increase in workforce learning engagement and performance outcomes in support of organisational objectives. 

  • Facilitate the administration for: compliance learning and development; first aid; warden; and mental health first aid programs. 

  • Support the processes for implementing and leveraging relevant data and ensuring best practice design through Adult Vocational Industry frameworks mapping. 

  • Support the implementation of organisational capability and training needs assessments in collaboration with the Manager Talent Management. 

  • Utilise available data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and for the provision of associated reports on learning and development initiatives. 

  • Support divisional advocacy for change by identifying opportunities to support business transformation through learning activities. 

  • Help foster an inclusive and dynamic culture of learning across all levels of the organisation.  

  • Support the design and implementation of succession and career planning processes, encouraging business-wide recognition of individual achievements and contributions. 

  • Undertake collaborative development and improvement activities with external partners through measuring performance, providing feedback and recognising achievements. 

  • Undertake continuous professional development activities by engaging with the MEGT Performance Appraisal and Development Program.

  • Administration requirements of Learning Management Systems and learning and development programs are met in line with program requirements. 

  • Implementation of methods to identify and document workforce training/capability needs in line with organisational objectives and project timelines. 

  • Content and learning solutions for organisational capability; learning and development; and performance programs are designed, developed and implemented within specified timeframes. 

  • Organisational capability; learning and development; and performance programs are mapped, where appropriate, to relevant Vocational Education Industry standards.  

  • Continuous improvement programs and systems are implemented, tracked and reviewed in line with project timelines. 

  • Accurate and reliable data is collected, reviewed and presented to demonstrate the impact to the business of organisational capability; learning and development; and performance programs.
