Having attended the MEGT ICT PaTH pilot program in this year, Youth Jobseeker Freya Stevenson successfully gained a full-time traineeship with Connecting2Australia 2020.
Before commencing the course, in which she obtained certifications in Microsoft Word and Excel, Freya had been unemployed for a period of 15 months and was lacking career direction, motivation and confidence.
Freya was supported in the program by MEGT’s Emily Harris who worked intensively with her on a weekly basis. Freya is full of praise for Emily who not only supported her in the program but also helped her to secure the traineeship with Connecting2Australia.
‘When we first began working together, Emily made me a promise not to give up on me until I had reached my goal of finding employment. She not only held true to this promise but assisted me in every aspect of job searching – from consolidating my resume, to building rapport, to understanding my interests. She helped to place me in a traineeship that perfectly suits my passions.’
Freya made a point of expressing that she had not been accustomed to receiving such a huge level of dedication from previous employment services she had been involved with.
Says, Freya: ‘MEGT has been a huge asset to me. The commitment and encouragement I have received has empowered me to succeed. I truly couldn't have achieved this without their help and I'm extremely grateful’.
