OzCom Technology Group is looking for a trainee as an IT support technician to join our team for a full time position providing IT service desk support to clients within Geelong & Melbourne. As the first point of contact for all IT incidents and requests.
The position will ideally suit somebody who is passionate about IT & looking for an opportunity to show what they can really do in a flexible environment.
Position Details:
As a IT support technician,responding to IT service desk queries quickly and resolve issues promptly and professionally. where required to go onsite and perform support services (using company car) to manage and support information and communication technology (ICT) environment which consists of desktops, notebooks, iPads, tablets and support a range of other technologies, such as standard operating environments, wireless infrastructure, WAN infrastructure & replacing hardware components. This work is combined with either a Certificate III or IV in Information, Digital Media and Technology
Excellent verbal and written skills is essential due to the communication involved.
Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology units:
- Participate effectively in WHS communication and consultation processes
- Implement and monitor environmentally sustainable work practices
- Work and communicate effectively in an ICT environment
- Create user documentation
- Instal and optimise operating system software
- Run standard diagnostic tests
- Connect internal hardware components
- Care for computer hardware
- Provide basic system administration
- Provide ICT advice to clients
- Maintain equipment and software
- Operate application software packages
- Implement system software changes
- Comply with organisational requirements for protection and use of intellectual property
- Review and maintain a website
- Use social media tools for collaboration and engagement
- Migrate to new technology

Work hours
- Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Permanent position highly likely after 12-month traineeship.
