The advantages of becoming an apprentice or trainee
Apprenticeships and traineeships provide you with a nationally recognised qualification and valuable on-the-job experience. Apprenticeships are usually offered in trade-related fields and take 3- 4 years to complete. Traineeships are offered across a broader range of sectors including health, care, IT, business and hospitality and usually take 1-2 years to complete.
The benefits of becoming an apprentice or trainee include:
- Obtaining a nationally recognised qualification to kickstart your career
- Combining formal learning with on-the-job training that delivers real-world experience
- The opportunity to earn while you learn with no debt to worry about
- Potential to access financial support throughout your apprenticeship/traineeship
- In some states, the outcome of an ASbA can positively contribute to secondary school graduation results
