Australia’s largest single Apprentice Connect Provider, MEGT, has celebrated its’ return to outback WA with a Community Connect event in Broome.
The launch attracted nearly 100 local employers, career experts, education providers, as well as representatives from the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR).
Federal MP for Kimberley, Divina D’Anna, emphasised the importance of apprentices and traineeships for the region, telling the audience that they “are stepping stones towards sustainable employment for our local people, businesses, and communities.”
MEGT's CEO, Matthew Hick, echoed this sentiment, highlighting that our newly opened offices in Broome, Karratha, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Port Hedland reflect the importance MEGT places on having local teams working with local communities.
“We’ve loved reconnecting with candidates and employers who are the heartbeat of a region which contributes so much to the national economy”, he said.
“There’s nothing like connecting with people on their home patch, to look them in the eye and have genuine discussions about real employment pathways”.
Broome Shire President Chris Mitchell also addressed the attendees, reinforcing the need to create an environment where everyone can succeed. “I’m proud to warmly welcome MEGT to our region.”
The event served as a vital opportunity to build meaningful connections within Western Australia’s remote north-west region, demonstrating MEGT's commitment to Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathways.
