MEGT plays role in new degree apprenticeship pathway

6 February, 2025

MEGT has partnered with RMIT University and defence and security company BAE Systems Australia to launch an exciting new initiative to create valuable career opportunities for Victorians.

Victoria’s first ever mechanical engineering degree apprenticeship will allow participants to undertake two mechanical engineering qualifications over five years, all while being employed by a leading industry partner.

The ‘earn and learn’ degree apprenticeship model features valuable paid workplace experience, mentoring by experts in their field, and helps build critical industry connections.

Co-designed and delivered with leading industry partners, the degree apprenticeship in mechanical engineering is a winning blend of study and work, and is designed to help address critical skills shortages.

Through this combination of formal education in the classroom and practical experience at work, you will develop the skills needed to adapt to new situations and find new solutions; skills that are in high demand by employers across industries and professions.
