If your answer is yes, then Normet has a fantastic opportunity for you as 1st Year Heavy Diesel Mechanic Apprentice based in our Torrensville Branch.
Duties
- Assist with the modification, servicing and repairs of vehicle systems
- Assist with the inspection and overhaul Normet equipment to OEM specifications
- Assist with the manufacturing and fitting of hydraulic hoses, valves and components
- Assist with testing and adjusting of all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components and circuits
- Participate in inspections, analysis and recording of critical mechanical information during the process of undertaking mechanical refurbishing work.
- Assist with cutting, grinding, drilling, welding, manufacturing of small components and fitting them to machines.

About You
- Committed, reliable, punctual with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good attention to detail with the ability to follow instruction
- Love working hands-on and comfortable to undertake manual labor
- Have good organisational and communication skills
- Committed to complete a full time 4 year apprenticeship, including practical studies
- Preferably have completed Year 11 or 12 and a strong interest in mechanics.
- Previously worked with hand/power tools (desirable)
- Have work experience in the automotive industry (desirable)
- You must have full Australian working rights to be considered for this position.
The successful candidate must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and obtain a National Police Clearance.
