Spray Painting Apprentice

QMW are currently looking for a Spray Painting Apprentice to join the team with a January / February 2025 start date.

About you: 

We are looking for a reliable and highly motivated apprentice with a genuine interest in pursuing a Spray painting apprenticeship (AUR32420 Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology) , that is able to demonstrate the following:

  • A genuine interest in spray painting and body prep with a strong desire to complete a spray painting apprenticeship.
  • A strong quality focus with a ‘Right 1st Time’ and Continuous Improvement mindset.
  • Ability to adapt in different working environments with a passion for learning the trade.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment and adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Work well in a Team environment, independently and X-functionally.
  • A positive ‘can do’ professional and friendly attitude with a strong work ethic.
  • A valid and current driver’s licence with your own transport would be an advantage.

Duties will include:

  • Completing spray painting to various types of machinery and equipment including cabins and components.
  • Completing preparations for body fillers and primers including setting up vehicles and components, isolating equipment, masking up equipment / components etc. 
  • Carrying out out minor body repairs and rectifying defects.
  • Completing refurbishment repairs on machinery/equipment and cabins.
  • Sandblasting preparation on various parts and components.
  • Undertaking quality checks on all items ensuring compliance.

The successful candidate will undergo a Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology.
