We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Apprentice Pastry Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. This entry-level role offers hands-on training and an excellent opportunity to learn the art of pastry-making, baking, and dessert creation from experienced professionals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of pastries, cakes, desserts, and other baked goods following recipes and instructions.
  • Support the Head Pastry Chef and team in daily kitchen operations, including measuring, mixing, baking, and decorating.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the pastry kitchen, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Learn and practice various techniques, such making doughs, and crafting decorations.
  • Assist with inventory management, including checking and storing supplies properly.
  • Follow food hygiene and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide creative input for menu items and presentation styles.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by senior staff.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • A genuine passion for pastry and baking, with a desire to pursue a career in the culinary arts.
  • Some prior experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and creativity.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team player with good communication and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and accept constructive feedback.
  • Basic knowledge of baking tools, techniques, and kitchen safety is an advantage.
